What is AHA in skincare?

Fruit acids (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are an effective complex for deep skin cleansing and overall enhancement.

Fruit acids act as exfoliants, helping remove dead particles of the cornified layer of the skin. Doing so reveals fresher, refined skin that appears much smoother, is more hydrated, and, over time, becomes visibly firmer.

AHA-acids are obtained from apples, grapes, citrus plants, sugar cane etc. They're suitable for someone who wants to "refresh" their skin. However, as with most skincare ingredients and especially exfoliants, inappropriate AHA percentage in the formula may cause sun sensitivity, peeling, and itching.

EO Laboratorie Cleaning Mask with fruit acids was designed to be applied at home and has appropriate AHA-acid content for safe use (no more than 3%). The formula is so gentle that it can be used even during pregnancy and lactation.

We recommend you to use products with AHA-acids not more than once a week. For daily use choose gentle face cleansers and foams.
